Runa Press does not publish content generated by AI or LLM

Content generated by artificial intelligence (AI) or chatbots from Large Language Models (LLM) such as ChatGPT, Mistral, Copilot, Gemini, etc. is filling the shelves of our homes and our reading devices with rubbish. Runa Press does not publish content generated by artificial intelligence.

Warning: On this page, you will find extensive use of quotation marks. They are not there on a whim. When you see them, please interpret the text in quotation marks metaphorically. An LLM does not create, it regurgitates. A user does not write a book with AI, but rather has it written (and then often profits from it).

What is AI‑generated text content?

Textual content generated by artificial intelligence, or rather by a Large Language Model (LLM) such as ChatGPT, Mistral, Copilot, Gemini, etc., is text that the LLM in question creates at the request of a user, using small pieces of content and semantics with which it has been fed as a basis. This content comes mainly from websites and books that have become part of the model’s corpus. With it, and following guidelines of physical and semantic proximity, it “creates” texts in response to the user’s request or prompt.

What is sometimes done with these texts generated by the LLM?

These texts are often used to “write” books (or anything else, such as articles or school assignments) with minimal effort. These books are then sold as if they were written by a person.

The result is that consumers are exposed to the risk of paying for a simple pastiche of different pieces of information created by other people or companies and published on the internet. The prose regurgitated by AI is of dubious quality and its originality is non-existent.

But that’s not all: the next time the AI model is fed, some of the content it ingests will have been generated by itself. We will be faced with a scenario comparable to mad cow disease: cows feeding on other cows and inevitably degenerating.

Why does Runa Press not publish content generated by artificial intelligence?

Reading a book should not be solely about acquiring information. In fact, it rarely is. Readers enjoy reading a well‑written text more than a poorly written one; they learn new expressions and words, and use what they have learned in their own speech or writing. Don’t we all want to enjoy and learn from what we read? How can this be possible if good books have to compete for our attention with trashy works thrown together with minimal effort?

Runa Press does not publish AI‑generated content for the following reasons:

Thank you for purchasing books written by humans.
